To say Signalis is one of my favorite pieces of media in existence is an understatement.
It altered my brain chemistry and showed me the heights writing and fiction can reach when done by someone who deeply understands
the emotions that they are trying to convey.

In 6 words it perfectly draws the image of the kind of deranged
and oppresive empire that Elster and Ariane live in.
How would anyone put a human being in a tin can for up to 5 years with the sole company of a
perfect "Replika" of another human being, and not expect them to develop a friendship at the very least?
That's what fascism is like. Unnatural. Criminalizing the most human impulses is a tool of control that those hungry for power usually default to.
As it turns out, love can't be contained under the strongest of iron fists. True love won't be stopped by the darkest of cosmic horrors. Even self preservation will vanish in the face of the one we treasure.
This is why fascism can never win. In the direst of situations, love will always bloom and it will bring down in a moment the walls that, to the oppresors, took years to build.
